The Program

Trends in telecommuting, the growth of the Internet, and corporate downsizing have contributed to the growth of the virtual assistant profession. This online program will provide opportunities for students to gain entrepreneurial skills, attitudes, technology skills and related knowledge to adapt to providing office services virtually from their home offices and will also provide confidence to take their career offline. Students will also learn how to create and market a viable home-based business using their technological skills to contract office support to for-profit businesses and not-for-profit agencies.

There are three intakes: beginning January, June, September of each year. Each course is 14 weeks in length. Upon completion there will be an Awards ceremony and a business matching making event. This program is intended to launch in the major cities across the U.S.

Certificate graduates are prepared to operate an office services home-based business, or become a qualified administrative or executive assistant.

FAQs about Virtual Assistant Transition Program

Is a formal training program really necessary? No. But it's a zoo out there. You could easily spend a year or more figuring everything out on your own or you could invest 14 weeks and learn from the pros. We are committed to maintaining high individual and industry integrity and believe that training emerging VAs is one way to accomplish that goal.

How long is the program? 14 weeks

How can VATP train in less time and for less money than other programs? We focus on what we do best: providing the tools, coaching and training to enable VAs to work successfully in the virtual work environment. We can direct you to resources to help you brush up on hard skills or business startup basics but we won't spend your time or money on things that many VAs have told us they already know.

Where are the classes held? Classes are held via our interactive, online classroom or via teleconference.

How big are the classes? 3-7 students

What kind of time commitment is required on a weekly basis? It will vary but will probably be 5+ hours/week.

What happens if I miss classes? VATP does not offer refunds or make-up classes. We encourage you to attend all sessions but realize that is not always possible. If you miss a class, you may get the notes/assignment from a classmate, use a coaching session to go over the material that you missed or sit in on the class during the next session.

Will you refer me to clients after I have completed training? Students that complete the program and assignments will be added to our directory and will be entitled to receive client referrals.
